PARKS & GARDENS

Chelmsford plays host to several Green Flag-accredited parks, so as well as enjoying city life, you can step into nature and savour the changing seasons. Enjoy a dreamy summer's picnic in Admirals Park, take a springtime stroll through the Hylands Estate's mesmerising floral displays, or brave a bracing winter walk around Central Park Lake.

CENTRAL PARK

Today, it also includes Central Park Memorial Gardens, Frank Whitmore Place, Bell Meadow and Sky Blue Pasture with over 35.6 acres of parkland together with a Nature Reserve. Visitors can enjoy beautiful flowerbeds, riverside walks and cycle paths, a model railway, children’s play areas, a lake, skateboard ramp, tennis courts, a multi-use games area and table tennis. Many outdoor events are held here during the year and visitors can also take in the views of the iconic Victorian railway viaduct whilst walking around the lake, stopping for refreshments from the Park café.
