From the deepest darkest despair, Matt and Liam, have managed to find a way of channelling the grief of their children dying to provide the support that was missing for them during their losses.

Across three seasons of the podcast, the two dads discuss all of the issues that anyone who experiences baby loss will face. From the day it happens to returning to work, from the differences between mums and dads to pregnancy after loss. The dads have created a toolkit for surviving loss in a practical, humorous, and accessible way. 

 Imagine two blokes down the pub, talking about their losses. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, but you’ll come out the other side.

The podcast was recognised at the British Podcast Awards in 2023, winning the Best Parenting Podcast category and we’re excited to welcome them to the very first Essex Podcast Festival

Chelmsford For You podcast hosts, Sara & Will, chat with early noughties hip hop/ RnB act, Blazin’ Squad. The group emerged from Essex and soon established themselves in the UK music scene with a string of six top ten hits, including the hugely popular, ‘Crossroads’.

Manifesto for Essex began at the Essex Book Festival in 2020. It is a response to festival director Ros Green’s question: what is the most pressing issue of the day and who will be most affected by it? The discussion will be chaired by Marina Cusi who is joined by two outstanding young people who have been part of their Writing and Talking National Saturday Club based at ARU. We’re also delighted to have special guest, Steve Mortimer, joining the panel. He’s the producer of international award-winning film ‘Connect – A Creative Response to Climate Change’, which was selected for over 140 international film awards across the globe. Steve is also founder of The Black Chapel Collective, which is a creative group of musicians, video artists, film makers, DJs, rappers, poets and dancers that create an exciting, transformative and contemporary live arts project around climate change.

Chelmsford For You podcast host, Sara & Will, sit down with former television presenter and bestselling novelist, Syd Moore, to discuss her fantastic book series, The Essex Museum Mysteries. Her novels are mystery thrillers inspired by her research into the myths from Essex, where she grew up and still lives. The event will include an audience Q&A and opportunity to get your book signed by Syd.
