Chelmsford Cathedral
A Cathedral in the heart of the city centre, this beautiful place is home to a thriving Christian community of all ages. We seek to serve the city of Chelmsford and the whole region. We are open every day from 7.30am and until 6pm seven days a week, and the beating heart of the Cathedral is the daily prayer morning and evening. There is space here for stillness and silence, the opportunity to light a candle and say a prayer. The Cathedral is the cultural centre of the city with regular concerts, recitals and exhibitions; a place of learning and exploration with weekly bible studies and groups; and seeks to serve the wider community through the Wednesday drop-in café and activities for children in the school holidays. It is free to visit and many of the concerts and exhibitions held throughout the year are also free. There are regular tours available and groups can book in advance. Alternatively, take a self guided tour using one of the many leaflets available or an audio guide by downloading the free visitor app and hear more about the history, art and architecture of the building.
