Chelmsford... it's time to assemble once again as The Chelmsford Takeover returns to the city centre for its third year on Saturday 12 April 2025.
Get ready for the city centre to come to life with the return of Chelmsford's cosplay event, seeing a whole host of familiar heroes, characters and show cars from the BIG screen, TV and Comics across multiple locations.

Chelmsford For You will once again join forces with Essex Cosplayers to bring you this fabulous FREE family event. We’re excited to be running the Chelmsford Takeover again to raise funds for Little Havens, a charity providing care for Children and Young people up to the age of 25 who have been diagnosed with a complex or incurable condition, whilst offering support to their families.
*NEW FOR 2025* is the Fire and Lego Walk which will be held on the day in the Bond Street Bowl. It’s your chance to become a superhero and join in with this fundraiser to help raise vital funds for Little Havens. Are you brave enough to take on the challenge? Did you know? Back To The Future celebrates it’s 40th anniversary in 2025. So it was only right for us to give the milestone birthday a nod by using the DeLorean for this year’s artwork in front of our very own Shire Hall… which is very similar to the Clock Tower seen in the film franchise. The DeLorean will be one of our show cars again this year, we can’t wait to have the beauty back!
