The first ever BID Business Awards, organised by Chelmsford For You, have now concluded for 2024. These provided the opportunity for the community to recognise and celebrate the fantastic businesses the city centre is home to.
The public were provided the opportunity to nominate their favourite businesses across 10 categories. Our independent judging panel, which comprised of event sponsors and local stakeholders, had the task of reviewing the 2,577 nomination forms and whittling down each category to just three shortlisted businesses.
The shortlisted categories were then put back to a public vote where we received an incredible 11,313 votes! The voting results were provided to our panel of independent judges, along with reports from our secret shoppers, results were verified and those winners selected.
On Wednesday 12th June, city centre businesses attended the BID Business Awards Ceremony, hosted by BID Manager Sara Tupper, in the beautiful setting of Chelmsford Cathedral where we discovered those 10 winners.
For the inaugural BID Business Awards, the Chelmsford For You Team selected 10 categories to recognise and celebrate the fantastic variety of businesses from, large and small, independents to national chains, further raising the profile of Essex’s very first city.
